Recently, ENR announced their 2019 Global Best Projects awards with the Fort Hills Oil Sands Mine project receiving the Award of Merit for Power/Industrial projects. Congratulations to Suncor Energy Inc. and partners on this well-deserved win!

The Fort Hills project was selected from a record number of entries sent from more than 20 countries around the globe this year. Winners of these awards include ‘exemplary projects that demonstrate the risks and rewards—and the hurdles overcome—of designing and building internationally.’

Completed in 2018, the $13-billion Fort Hills Oils Sands project required the successful collaboration of more than 25,000 team members that included a team in North America as well as suppliers and contractors from 5 other countries.
